diginomics – the study of the production, consumption, and distribution of informational resources across geopolitical forums.
Definition of the term ‘diginomics’.
When the word ‘diginomics’ first entered my mind’s eye in 2013, it did so with the ring of a bell.
Here was something which could adequately describe the work I had been (and intended to continue doing) in relation to bitcoin – that nascent cybercurrency capturing the attention of a world in need of something which could obviate the need for a trusted intermediary.
Often times people attempt to wordsmith by combining phrases which were never meant to be. Yet, this word ‘diginomics’ stood as though it had not been “smithed” at all, but merely uncovered. A revelation unto man …
Our society is rapidly undergoing a transformation, one brought forth by the pervasiveness and omnipotence of digital technologies. With the accelerating computerization of society, it is clear that this form of law is preeminent. This development towards a totally digitized society is what our institution reviews. We call the science behind this diginomics.
The word is a gateway which allows us to understand the concept it references: digital law. We live in a diginomic world.
The English suffix “-nomics” is derived from the Greek term “νόμος” (“law”). The field ending with “-nomics” thus, mean “law of” whatever the prefix is. The term “digitus” is a Latin phrase describing a system for recording numerical information using digits (numbers 0 – 9). Digital number is an array commonly referred to as base 10 (decimal).
Therefore, in our estimation, the term “diginomics” literally translates to “law from number”.
Diginomics is a concept which has been understood by past civilizations yet seemingly forgotten beneath the sands of time.
An ode to those who came before us is here called for: the ancient Pythagoreans, who revered the symbolic tetrad, understood that number rules the universe. They studied diginomics, and in doing so, formulated mathematical proofs that civilization depends on to this very day!
Thank you for your interest in learning about digital economics.
It is our hope that those who care to hear our message will arrive at a higher understanding of law and order through the work we conduct. It is an understanding which allows society to be governed by digital calculation. It is the most timeless form of law known – born from the language of the universe: mathematics.
Join us as we explore the science of diginomics!
